Our Foundation
A Commitment to Ethical Practice
At Bluestone Contractors, every project begins with a promise — to you, your home, and your community.
These are not aspirational statements. They govern how we advertise, how we write contracts, how we handle complaints, how we manage your job site, and how we stand behind our work.
We hold ourselves to the full standards established by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) — including its Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice (Marketing, Sales, and Service), and Core Values — as well as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) professional guidelines.
Our goal is to make every homeowner feel informed, protected, and respected from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
NARI — Code of Ethics
The Eight Pledges We Make
Each member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry pledges to observe high standards of honesty, integrity, and responsibility in the conduct of business. Bluestone Contractors upholds every one of these pledges:
- Sound Products & Services Only: We promote only those products and services which are functionally and economically sound, and which are consistent with objective standards of health and safety.
- Honest Advertising & Sales: All advertising and sales promotion is factually accurate. We avoid any practice that tends to mislead or deceive the customer — including bait-and-switch, false pricing comparisons, or unsubstantiated claims.
- Legally Compliant Contracts & Warranties: Every contract and warranty we issue complies with federal, state, and local laws — including the Florida Building Code and Florida consumer protection statutes.
- Responsive to All Customer Complaints: We promptly acknowledge and take appropriate action on all customer concerns. No complaint goes unanswered.
- Fair Competition: We refrain from any act intended to restrain trade, suppress competition, or otherwise violate antitrust law. We compete on quality, value, and integrity.
- Proper Insurance: We obtain and retain all insurance required by federal, state, and local authorities, including general liability and workers’ compensation.
- Proper Licensing & Registration: We obtain and retain all contractor licensing and registration required under Florida law and by local authorities, for every scope of work we perform.
- Health & Safety of All Parties: We take all appropriate action to preserve the health and safety of our employees, trade contractors, clients, and the general public on every job site.

NARI — Standards of Practice
How We Operate: Marketing, Sales & Service
Beyond the Code of Ethics, NARI publishes a detailed Standards of Practice governing three core areas of business conduct. Bluestone Contractors adheres to all of the following.
1. Truthful & Non-Deceptive Marketing
- All advertising and promotional materials accurately represent the products and services we offer — no omissions of material facts that would mislead a reasonable consumer.
- When a price is quoted, we clearly state the scope, specifications, and whether installation is included, in terms our clients understand.
- We do not use bait-and-switch tactics. Every advertised offer is a genuine effort to sell the advertised product or service.
- When we use the term “warranty” or “guarantee,” we describe the full nature and extent of that warranty — including obligations on both our part and the client’s.
- All testimonials and endorsements we publish are genuine, complete, and consistent with FTC endorsement guidelines.
- Competitive pricing claims are factual and reference actual previously offered prices — not inflated list prices or fictitious retail values.
- If we offer credit terms, we comply with the Federal Truth in Lending Act and all applicable Florida state laws.
2. Evidence-Based Claims
- Any claim we make about energy savings, product performance, or project outcomes is supported by objective, competent data before we publish it.
- We do not falsely disparage competitors. All comparative statements are based on verifiable performance facts.
3. Fair Marketing Practices
- We do not use coercive or high-pressure tactics that cause consumers to purchase goods or services they would not otherwise choose.
- We do not perform regulated activities — including asbestos removal, mold remediation, or lead-paint work — unless we are properly licensed and certified to do so.
4. Accurate Representation of Our Company
- All written representations state our actual company name and business address.
- Claims about years in business reflect actual years the company has operated — not individual employee experience.
- Our company name accurately reflects the nature of our business. We do not use trade styles that misrepresent our scope of services.
5. Licensing, Insurance & Bonding Disclosures
- We only use the terms “licensed,” “insured,” or “bonded” in our materials when we are, in fact, licensed by the relevant Florida authority or carry the stated coverage — with clear disclosure of what the coverage entails.
- We do not claim government affiliation, FHA approval, or agency endorsement unless expressly granted.
6. Telephone Solicitations
- We comply with all applicable state and federal Do Not Call laws and regulations.
- Any solicitation call identifies the caller’s name and company name at the outset, with a contact number available during business hours.
NAHB — Professional Standards
Construction Performance Standards
In alignment with NAHB’s Residential Construction Performance Guidelines, Bluestone Contractors holds itself to the following professional standards on every project:
- All work complies with the Florida Building Code and all applicable local, state, and national building codes.
- Written contracts clearly define scope of work, materials, project timeline, payment schedule, and change-order procedures before any work begins.
- Client expectations are managed proactively — progress updates, schedule changes, and unforeseen conditions are communicated promptly.
- Materials, equipment, and workmanship meet or exceed industry performance guidelines for residential construction.
- All subcontractors are vetted for quality, carry appropriate insurance, and hold required Florida licenses.
- All required building permits are obtained and all required inspections are scheduled and completed.
- We pursue continuing education and remain current with evolving codes, building science, materials, and best practices.
- The NAHB Residential Construction Performance Guidelines are available to clients upon request to help understand performance expectations during and after construction.
