Bluestone Contractors is a custom renovation company in the Boca Raton area, under the leadership of Phyllis Michaels, Managing Member.
We serve Palm Beach County in Boca Raton, Delray Beach and the surrounding areas.
Our Story
Phyllis Michaels has over thirty years of experience as an architectural designer, home renovator, and custom home builder. Phyllis grew up with an artistically inclined dad, educated as a clothing designer, he ended up owning a family retail ladies clothing store to have a stable income rather than pursuing his dreams as a clothing designer. As a frustrated clothing designer, he designed all of Phyllis’ clothing using old newspapers to make patterns for her clothes and later used his talents to design their family home. Phyllis spent many weekends with her dad walking through the halls of the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota learning about design, color, and spatial relationships. In hindsight she credits her dad’s influence on her career direction.
Phyllis has always been sensitive to how people experience interior space and its impact on people’s lives. She brings that sensitivity to every design she creates. Over the years, Phyllis has been recognized by the HBA for her award-winning work. She credits her success to providing quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and timeless designs that reflect the lifestyles of families today in the Boca Raton area.

Home Warranty
Bluestone Contractors, LLC provides a one-year warranty for all newly constructed homes and renovations “for all construction defects of equipment, material, or workmanship furnished by the builder or any subcontractor or supplier resulting in a material violation of the Florida Building Code.” Certain defects—namely those related to “appliances or equipment that are covered under a manufacturer warranty” or in the case of renovations; newly constructed work that fails due to existing conditions do not fall within the scope of this warranty.
However, we do not warrant (1) “normal wear and tear,” (2) “normal house settling within generally accepted trade practices,” (3) work performed by anyone “other than the builder or its employees, agents, or contractors,” or (4) “any loss or damage” to the home caused by the owner or “an act of God”—i.e., actions “over which the builder has no control.”
